FAQs

How will I find out when Willoughby Leisure Centre will re-open?

When there is a directive from the Government to re-open, we will email members and multi-visit pass holders. Information will also be available on our website.

How is Willoughby Leisure Centre supporting members during the closure?

Physical exercise and the vital role it plays in person’s health and mental wellbeing has never been more important than now, so the key message is to KEEP EXERCISING. To encourage our members to exercise and keep active despite the Centre being closed, we have been in contact with industry partners. We are pleased to offer the digital health and fitness programs to our members. We have emailed members with information about how to access links to at-home workouts.

Will I still be charged for my membership?

During the time Willoughby Leisure Centre is closed, we will be automatically suspending all of our memberships with no fees to pay until the centre re-opens (including members who have already suspended their membership).

Members paying via direct debit will not be charged and all payments have been stopped effective immediately. We will credit members with pro-rata membership fee already paid for the period 23 to 25 March 2020 in the first direct debit after we re-open.

I have paid up-front for my membership how does this impact me?

If you have paid for your membership upfront, the suspension period will be applied to the end of the term contract and the expiry updated to include the additional time.

Members are entitled to a maximum of 12 weeks of a 12 month period; will this suspension impact my entitlement?

This closure will be in addition to the 12 weeks for suspension.

I have bought a pre-paid multi-visit pass how does this impact me?

If you have purchased a 10 or 20 multi-visit visit pass (including: Swim, Spa & Sauna, Health Club and Play Club) any unused visits will be available as soon as we are able to re-open.

The expiry period of these visits will be extended. For example, if you have six months remaining on a visit pass and the centre is closed for one month, your expiry date will be increased by one month.

Did the Willoughby Leisure Centre close due to the outbreak of COVID-19?

Willoughby Leisure Centre has closed following the directive from the Government in response to the management of the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia. This is an industry-wide shut down.

Following the announcement of stage 1 restrictions imposed by the Prime Minister on 22 March to close all non-essential places of gatherings (including pools, gyms/fitness facilities), Willoughby Leisure Centre closed on 23 March.

I have booked a personal training session what should I do?

If you have purchased a personal training pack and have sessions booked with one of our trainers, your sessions will re-commence as soon as we’re able to re-open.

I have paid for the 8 Week Challenge how does this impact me?

If you have paid for the 8 Week Challenge that was scheduled to end on Sunday 5 April, we have temporarily paused the program until Willoughby Leisure Centre re-opens. We will be working with our personal trainers to deliver a 4 Week Challenge. Your trainer will be in contact with you directly to make arrangements once Willoughby Leisure Centre re-opens.

In the meantime, we are encouraging you to stay active and KEEP EXERCISING. While we won’t be seeing you in the gym, we have emailed our members links to at-home workouts.

I have pre-paid for Swim School what does that mean?

Swimming lessons were cancelled from 3pm 19th March 2020. All unused lessons for the remainder of term 1 will be credited to your account. If you’ve paid for holiday intensive programs and Term 2 lessons, these have also been credited. You will be able to apply your credits towards swimming lessons or Kids Klub programs when we the centre re-opens.

Credits must be used within 12 months.

I have a squad pass. Can I still access the program?

As the centre is closed, there is no squad program currently running. We will be adding an extra 6 months onto the expiration date of all passes. If you are no longer part of the squad program once the centre re-opens your squad pass can be used for casual swim entry.
